The world knows what sexual abuse is. It has statistics, headlines, courtrooms, and definitions. What it barely knows is what comes after — the years, not the moment; the life that has to be rebuilt, not the event that broke it. That silence, the silence around the aftermath, is where too many survivors are left alone.
1Less2Tell exists to end that particular silence. Not to sensationalise what happened to anyone, but to make visible what happens next: how people carry it, survive it, and slowly build a life on the other side of it. When these stories are gathered in one place, they do something no single story can — they prove that no one is alone in this, and they show a world that would rather look away exactly what it costs to live with, and to live beyond.
Awareness is not an abstraction here. It spreads one person at a time — one story read, one story shared, one story told. That is the whole engine of this site.

1Less2Tell was founded by Jean Dorff — a survivor, and the person who reads every story that arrives here. He told his own story once, in his book Broken Silence, and he knows what it costs and what it gives.
He will say plainly that being heard mattered — and just as plainly that telling is a beginning, not the whole of healing. For some, being heard is enough. For others, it opens the door to deeper work, through The Empowering Story, whenever they are ready.
How this site is kept
Every story is read by a person before it appears — reviewed for safety, never edited for content. Stories are not condensed or reframed; they stand as they are told. Identifying details are private and never published. Anonymity is honoured absolutely, no story appears without explicit consent, and any survivor may ask for their story to be edited or removed at any time. 1Less2Tell is operated by The Empowering Story.
It will make the aftermath of abuse impossible to ignore. It will show survivors they were never alone in it. It will turn private silence into shared truth — one story read, one story shared, one story told — until the world can no longer look away from what it means to live with this, and to live beyond it.
